Do I really need a Reservation in LOW SEASON ?
We realize many adventurous types like to keep their itinerary flexible, but if not expecting guests we often
CLOSE for a trip to 'civilization' to restock supplies, for maintenance projects, or for our own travels.
There are only 7 small inns in Xcalak, (which ALL close frequently in Low Season) and visitors are
not happy when they come this far only to find the best option unavailable (or NO options at all).
In such a remote location with limited facilities reservations are strongly recommended.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Changes accepted within 48 hours of initial booking without penalty.

Low Season
Cancellations made 30 days in advance receive a REFUND minus a $50 Cancellation Penalty.
14 -29 days in advance receives a REFUND minus a 1 Night Cancellation Penalty.
Cancellations under 14 days from arrival receive a REFUND minus a 2 night Penalty.

High Season
Cancellations made 90 days in advance receive a REFUND minus a $50 Cancellation Penalty.
60 days in advance receives a REFUND minus a 1 Night Cancellation Penalty.
30 days in advance receives a REFUND minus the > 3 night / 50% Deposit.
Cancellations under 30 days from arrival receive 50% credit valid in Low Season.

PEAK HOLIDAYS
Holiday Cancellations 90 days in advance receive a REFUND minus a 1 night Cancellation Penalty.
Cancellations 60 days in advance receive a REFUND minus greater of 3 night or 50% Cancellation Penalty.
Holiday Cancellations under 60 days from arrival receive a 50% CREDIT valid in low Season.

Cancellation Penalties are waived in the event of Force Majeure
Force Majeure includes major system wide travel disruptions due to Tropical Storm or winter blizzard,
not 'routine' late arrivals or personal circumstances such as "my boss ate my ticket".

The Fine Print
Playa Sonrisa is an easy 4.5 ~ 5 hour drive from the Cancun airport.  Don't forget to factor in
about 2 hours for processing through Immigration, baggage claim, Customs, car rental, etc.
Mid day arrivals can comfortably make it here the same day, later arrivals should consider
staying over in Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen or Tulum first night in country.

Cancellation Penalties apply PER CANCELLED WEEK or portion thereof.
>  if you reserve a room for 3 weeks, then cancel last minute, the Cancellation Penalty will increase accordingly.
